LEH, Mar 7: Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) LAHDC, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal here today launched a documentary film titled ‘Keep the Fragile Environment of Leh clean and safe’.
This documentary was made with dual aim of tourism promotion in Ladakh and to convert quantity tourism into quality tourism.
Thirty minute long documentary film is made by J&K Tourism Department in collaboration with LAHDC at an estimated cost of Rs. two lakh.
Dy. Chairman LAHDC Gyal P Wangyal, Executive Councillor Agriculture Phuntsog Stanzin, Councillors, AD Tourism Tsering Angmo, President Ladakh Travel and Trade Alliance P.T Kunzang, President ALTOA Tsetan Angchuk and members of hotel association and travel and trade alliance were also present on the occasion.
Lauding the efforts of Tourism Department, the CEC said that tourism sector has evolved as a major contributor in terms of new economy to Ladakh.
He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to Ladakh last month had inaugurated 10 new trekking and tourist routes and some more routes have already been taken up with the Government, informed CEC.
On the occasion, President LTA P.T. Kunzang presented a memorandum to CEC requested to look into their issues related to airport and airlines. CEC gave assurance of every possible help.
