DODA, Dec 10: The District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Dhananter Singh Kotwal, chaired a comprehensive meeting today to review the status of ongoing developmental works and the implementation of various horticulture schemes. The meeting was attended by concerned officers and officials, including SDO Thathri, Abdul Rauf, and Chief Horticulture Officer, Raghunath Upadhyaya.
The primary focus of the meeting was on the progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP) and other horticulture schemes aimed at boosting the agricultural economy of the district. The DDC Chairman emphasized the importance of timely execution of works under these initiatives to ensure maximum benefits for farmers. Detailed discussions were held on streamlining project implementation, addressing challenges faced in the field, and identifying priority areas for intervention.
During the meeting, DDC Chairman directed the officers to conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress of horticulture projects and ensure that the benefits reach grassroots-level beneficiaries. He also stressed promoting high-yield crop varieties, adopting modern agricultural techniques, and increasing awareness among farmers about Government schemes to enhance productivity and income.
He urged all officials to work in close coordination to achieve the desired objectives of the HADP and related programs. He highlighted the need for collaboration with local stakeholders to address specific regional challenges, such as irrigation, pest control, and market access. The meeting served as a platform for setting actionable goals to further strengthen the horticulture sector in Doda.
