Doda grenade attack case solved

JAMMU, May 23 : Doda Police has solved the grenade attack case of Police Station Thathri.
The grenade was hurled during the intervening night of April 27 and 28, which fell just short of Police Station Thathri thereby averting casualties of police officers/jawans.
During the course of investigation, Doda Police arrested five persons namely Abdul Rashid code Abdullah S/o Mohammad Iqbal Hargah R/o Tanta, age 27-28 Yrs, Akhter Hussain S/o Showket Ali Magray R/o Tanta, age 23-24 Yrs, Mohammad Rafi S/o Mohammad Ibrahim R/o Patnazi Bonjwa Age 19-20 Yrs, Altaf Hussain S/o Nazir Ahmed R/o Joura Gandoh A/P Thathri age 19-20 Yrs and Mohammad Yaqoob S/o Fateh Mohammad Gujjar R/o Bathree Gandoh age 26-27 Yrs and recovered one AK-56 rifle, Magazines of AK-56, 143 rounds of AK-56 rifle, one Chinese Pistol, one Magazine of Chinese Pistol, five rounds of Chinese Pistol, two Chinese Grenades, one Pouch and two Walkie Talkie wireless sets (Motorola) on their disclosures.
Police has also foiled the plot of execution of killings of police personnel and civilians with sophisticated weapons and grenades and to revive the militancy in the district. The accused arrested in the case are being put to sustained interrogation to take the investigation of the case to its logical conclusion.
As per the revelations made by the accused arrested persons, the above mentioned arms and ammunition was received by Abdul Rashid code Abdullah which was later given to rest of the four accused arrested persons and had assigned them the task of the execution of the plot which included the killing of police officers and jawans, civilians and prominent persons. When the arrested persons failed to execute any of the killings they were tasked to hurl grenade at Police Station Thathri to kill the police officers/jawans so that these arrested persons can become confirmed terrorists and this group would be added/supplemented by other youths of the area by motivating them.
