BHADERWAH, June 7: Shaheedi Divas of Amar Shaheed Ruchir Kumar and other martyrs of erstwhile Doda district was observed today with large number of people paying tributes to them and recalling their supreme sacrifices for the national cause.
These martyrs laid down their lives and did not compromise with the forces inimical to the cause of the nation and prevented Kashmir like situation to emerge in the Doda belt where from minorities were forced to migrate for safety.
In this connection a function was held here which started with flag hosting at Shaheedi Sathal of Ruchir Kumar at Vasakdera Bhaderwah in the morning. This was followed by paying of floral tributes to all martyrs of the erstwhile Doda district.
Those who paid tributes to martyrs included Ashok Ji, Faqir Chand Razdhan, Vidya Parkash Koul etc.
BJP leaders from Jammu Kavinder Gupta and Bali Bhagat also paid tributes to martyrs.
