JAMMU, Dec 30: Under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta, activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena here today organised a pro-NPR rally at old city.
Front activists in the rally carried National Flags along with placards with pro-NPR messages.
Speaking on the occasion Ashok Gupta said, while census is held after every 10 years, NPR was started by the UPA Government while the present Government is only carrying it forward as it is a good exercise.
“NPR is register of population and NRC is register of citizens and there is no link between the two.
Gupta demanded an enquiry from the Governor about an incident of few days back in which students from Kashmir had raised pro-Pakistan slogans.
He said so that those trying to disrupt peace should be punished.
Expressing anguish over violence in the name of holding protest against CAA, Gupta termed such incidents as political and communal conspiracy being hatched by Congress to divide the people on religious lines.
Surjeet, Bantu, Prem, Kalu, Anil, Vijay, Sham, Ajay, Ramesh, Abhishek and others were also present in the rally.
