Dogra Group of Colleges holds Advisory Committee meeting

SAMBA, Apr 19: A meeting of the Advisory Committee of Dogra Group of Colleges was organized today in the Conference Hall of Dogra Educational Complex at Bari Brahmana.
The Meeting was convened by Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak (Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust). The Committee members who marked their presence in the meeting were Justice OP Sharma (retired), Prof RD Sharma (former VC, University of Jammu), Prof SK Sharma (former Information Commissioner, J&K), AK Angurana (retired IAS), HA Sadique (former Additional Advocate General, High Court of J&K) and Chander Shekhar Gupta (Advocate, High Court, J&K).
Gulchain Singh Charak initiated the deliberations of the meeting with a formal welcome address wherein he shared the mission and vision of Dogra Group of Colleges. This was followed by power point presentations made by the respective Principals of three colleges of Dogra Group highlighting the common agenda points of the meeting about quality initiatives taken by the Colleges, academic and co-curricular activities conducted, result status of the preceding year and positions secured at university level and status of NAAC accreditation.
After submission of the reports of all the colleges the advisory committee members discussed and deliberated upon various issues including utilizing the services of experienced ex-Professors for students’ and faculty enrichment programmes, signing MoUs with the reputed institutions outside the State and at international level, and keep organizing interactive sessions and guest lectures with expert faculty and practitioners to enrich the knowledge bank of the students as well as faculty.
Dr Samar Dev Singh Charak (secretary, Dogra Educational Trust) shared his concern over the delay in grant of permission to start MEd programme in Dogra College of Education. He added that delayed decision on starting of PG Courses from the end of various authorities involved has greatly impacted the status of private self-financing Colleges specifically.
The meeting was winded up by Prof Darshana Sharma (Director, Dogra Group of Colleges) by presenting a formal vote of thanks.
