JAMMU, Nov 15: To promote the national heritage and encourage the people dedicated to the cause, the youth wing of Dogra Sadar Sabha is going to honour the Ramleela Clubs across Jammu.
“These Ramleela Clubs and Committees are indirectly propagating and inculcating the social and moral values in the society by staging Ramleela during Navratras and spreading the message on philosophy of Karma,” said Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, president Youth Wing of Dogra Sadar Sabha, while addressing a press conference here today.
He said that Dogra Sadar Sabha will be honouring these clubs for their contribution towards the society by performing Shri Ramleela.
The “felicitation function” is being organized by youth wing, Dogra Sadar Sabha in collaboration with UNISON and Ministry of Culture, Government of India on November 17, 2013 in the ground of Government Higher Secondary School, Bishnah at 6:00 pm, Gambhir Charak informed adding that former Minister and president Dogra Sadar Sabha Gulchain Singh Charak will preside over the scheduled felicitation function while Raman Bhalla, Minister for Culture, has consented to be the chief guest.
“This felicitation function will be followed by “Duggar Lok Rang” in which renowned artists will be performing and the function will be attended by people from all walks of life and occupation,” he said and appealed the general public to attend the function in large number so as to encourage these Ramleela Clubs and the local artists who are keeping alive the traditions and culture in this sacred land of Dogras.
Those who accompanied Gambhir Charak in the press conference, included Prem Sagar.
Replying to a query, the Dogra Sadar Sabha youth president expressed his reservations over Bollywood movie ‘Ramleela’ and opined that film producers should desist from hurting religious sentiments of people.
