Jammu, Nov 23: A book on collection of children poems in Dogri was released today by the greatest poetess of Dogri Padamshree Padma Sachdev in an impressive function held in the Seminar Hall of Environmental Science Department, University of Jammu.
On this occasion Prof. Archana Kesar, Director, Academic Staff College & HoD Punjabi, Prof. Shiv Dev Singh Manhas, HoD Dogri, Mohan Singh, president, Duggar Manch, Prof. Majrooh Rashid from Kashmir University, Ranjeet Kalra, Asstt. Director, Academic Staff College and Sidharth Dogra from Jammu Links were also present.
While speaking on this occasion, HoD Dogri Prof. Shiv Dev Singh Manhas said that on one hand, in this globalization era every thing is being sold, produced and used except literature. The reader of the literature is thinking to receive the good literature at their doorsteps whereas the writer is thinking- it is not possible to write the literature, publish it and then bring to the general public. On the other hand, we are talking that no new readers are joining in the movement to promote Dogri literature.
Keeping all this in view, the Dogri Bal Manch, Jammu has brought out its maiden book entitled “Nikkre Pangru Uchhi Udaan” which was released today. The book is edited by Sapna Narania, a Ph.D Scholar of P.G. Department of Dogri. Those who have contributed in this book include Champa Sharma, Gianeshwar Sharma, Bishan Singh Dardi, Bavita Kumari, Sapna Narania, Sunil Dutt Sharm, Pawan Verma, Dimple Sharma, Rajni Gupta, Rakesh Chalotra, Atma Heer, Ritu Gupta, Surita Sharma, Padam Dev Singh Nadaan, Uttam Singh, Manoj Heer, Ravi Gupta, Mool Raj and Shiv Dev Manhas.
The programme was attended by a large number of students, scholars and participants of Orientation course.
