REASI, Dec 22: A Dogri cultural programme was organized at Government High School (GHS) Kund Khanyari, Zone Pouni.
The programme was organized under the guidelines of Ashok Kumar CEO Reasi and Darshan Lal Principal DIET Reasi in order to mark the day of inculcation of Dogri in the eighth schedule of Indian constitution.
On the occasion, students and teachers actively took part in various cultural activities like dogri songs, competition and poem recitation.
Sanjeev Kumar Sharma CRP laid emphasis on the dire need to adopt Dogri language and its culture among the modern generation as a mark of pride and enthusiasm.
Kasturi Lal, Master highlighted the contributions of Dogri Laureates viz Dhinu Bhai Pant, Narsingh Dev Jamwal, Goga Ram Sathi, Champa Sharma, Padamshree Balwant Thakur, etc in promoting its cultural heritage at international sphere.
Sanjeev Kumar Sharma enthralled the gathering by presenting dogri songs in his melodious voice.
Among others present were Madan Lal Master, Nand Kumar Master, Suresh Kumar Teacher, Abdul Rashid, Rekha Devi, Poonam Sharma and Raj Kumar.
Anwar Hussain Choudhary, Incharge ZEO Pouni in his message assured to initiate all possible steps to promote Dogri in school curriculum besides inspiring the teaching community to voluntarily come forward for the cause of promotion of Dogri folklore.
