Dogri film producer seeks financial help from CM

JAMMU, Apr 24: Team and Producer of 2nd celluloid 35 MM Colourscope Dogri cultural film ‘Kuggi Maar Duari’ has appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to extend financial help to makers of this regional film for promotion of local talent, culture and language.
“Despite being recommended by several Dogra Ministers, including DyCM Tara Chand, Sham Lal Sharma, Raman Bhalla, Dr Manohar Lal as well as MP Ch Lal Singh and Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Language, the staff at CM office and concerned authorities are adopting a lackluster attitude towards extending financial help to the film team,” alleged Neelam Kumar Phull, the producer and director of the film, in a press statement, issued here today.
While reiterating the plea, the statement, added that similar financial help is provided by other States to the regional film makers for promotion of local culture, language and talent.
Pertinent to mention that Kuggi Maar Duari has been given U certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification. The J&K Government has already declared this film as tax free and recommended it for students.
