‘Dogri Literature Festival’ held

JAMMU, Feb 27: Lotus Sutra Foundation Jharkhand and Nav Durga Kala Manch Jammu in collaboration has organised an online ‘Dogri Literature Festival’.
President of Lotus Sutra Foundation Dr Gayatri Chandra started the festival by welcoming all the guests and participants.
Prabhanjanee Sharma coordinated the festival very well.
Shashi Bhushan, the speaker on the occasion gave a brief account of the Dogri language and literature right from the period of Kavi Dattu, Amir Khusroo and then Maharaja Ranbir Singh’s initiative to boost Dogri language.
The ups and downs that the Dogri language and literature have gone through upon its inclusion in 8th schedule were beautifully presented through power point presentation for almost an hour.
Thereafter, Siloni Sharma and Mohit Sharma, the Dogri folk singers sung Dogri songs which were appreciated by the participants.
Famous poetess from Kathua Saroj Bhardwaj read poetries in Dogri language and thereafter she explained the meaning of that in Hindi language as many of the participants were from others States of India.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by Chairperson Lotus Sutra Foundation Irisha Anand.
