JAMMU, Mar 29: On second day of the ongoing National Theatre Festival, Samooh Theatre staged Dogri adaptation of Hungarian playwright Fritz Karnethe’s ‘The Refund’ as comedy play ‘Chitta Singh’ directed by Ravinder Sharma.
The Festival is being organised by Abhinaya Kala Manch Reasi and is supported by Union Ministry of Culture in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL).
The play ‘Chitta Singh’ was about that a student who after spending 18 struggling years in search of suitable job realizes that the education which he received has failed to give him any job and he returns to his school to demand refund of the fee which he paid in school days.
The Principal meets teachers and they decide to give a mock test to the student with condition that only if he fails in the test the fee shall be refunded.
Artists who performed in the play were Ravinder Sharma, Rajat Gupta, Sandeep Manhas, Jhanvi Sharma, Deepika Devi, Ajay Tamang and Vinay Sharma.
Make up was done by Shammi Dhamir, lights were managed by Avinash and Aditya Bharti and Choreographer was Rohit Bains.
Rajinder Degra, District Information Udhampur/Reasi was the chief guest.
