JAMMU, Oct 13: “Dakghar (Amal)” a play in Dogri staged by the Trikuta College of Computer Science and Management Studies, Jammu, was adjudged as the Best Play in the One Act Play Competition conducted under the “Display Your Talent” 2012-13 by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, here today.
“Daamaad” a play in Hindustani presented by the team from Government Women College, Parade and “Pasina-Pasina” a play in Hindi performed by the team from GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, were adjudged as Second and Third Best Play, respectively.
Arpana Kapoor from Women College, Parade, bagged the Best Actress Award for playing the character of “Maa” in the play “Daamaad”. Poornima Shrivastava from Trikuta College of Computer Science & Management Studies, Jammu as “Sudha” in play “Dakghar (Amal)” and Padmini from Women College, Gandhi Nagar as “Mukhia” in the play “Pasina-Pasina” bagged the Second and Third Best Actress award, respectively.
Hempreet Kour for playing the character of “Amal” and Mridual Anand for character of “Sadhu”, both from Trikuta College of Computer Science and Management Studies in the Play “Dakgarh (Amal)” bagged the First Best Actor and Third Best Actor award for playing the Male characters, respectively whereas Sayma Tabassum from Women College, Parade, as “Himmat Singh” in play “Daamaad” was adjudged as Second Best Actor.
The Certificates of Merit for individual acting were awarded to Komal Bazaz from Trikuta College of Computer Science and Management Studies for her performance as “Father” in play “Dakghar (Amal)”, Poonam Kumari and Niharika Sharma, both from Women College, Parade, for their performance as “Inspector” and “Bachno” in the pay “Daamaad”.
Prof BL Patyal, Anil Sharma, and Sahib Singh, were the adjudicators for said event.
Prof Kuldeep K Sharma, Head, Department of Zoology, University of Jammu, was the chief guest on this occasion.
The competition was conducted under the overall supervision of Vijay Atri, who also acquainted the participants with the Rules and Regulations.
The programme was compeered by Suresh Singh, Cultural Secretary, Department of Economics.
Among others, Prof Jasbir Singh, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof NK Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, Dr Shailendra Singh, Associate Dean (SW), Dr Meghna Dhar, Nidhi Kaila, Secretary, SCC, Anshu Bala, Divya Mahajan , Harmeet Kour, Joint Secretaries, Teacher Incharge from various Affiliated Colleges and Students, were also present on this occasion.
