JAMMU, Feb 15: Dogri Sanstha Jammu today celebrated its 80th Foundation Day at Dogri Bhawan, Karan Nagar Jammu by organizing a Kavi Goshthi in which prominent poets of Dogri participated and presented their poetry.
The poets who participated in the Goshthi include Prof Lalit Magotra, Inderjeet Kesar, Susheel Begana, Puran Chander Sharma, Usha Kiran ‘Usha’, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Dr Bansi Lal Sharma, Abdul Qadir Kundria, Brijmohan, Jagmohan Sharma, Pawan Verma, Narender Bharti, Rajni Kumari, Tarun Charak, Pankaj Sharma and Kuldeep Sharma.
Prof Lalit Magotra, President of Dogri Sanstha Jammu, presided over the event. While speaking on the occasion, he recalled that it was a memorable and historical day for all Dogras as Dogri Sanstha Jammu, a pioneer literary organization working for promotion of mother tongue Dogri was founded on Basant Panchami in 1944 by Prof Ramnath Shastri, Pt Dinu Bhai Pant, Sansar Chand Baru, Bhagwat Prasad Sathe, Dharam Chand Prashant and Narayna Dutt Mishra. He said that the Sanstha will continue working on its mission of promotion of language and offering platforms to aspiring talents from every nook and corner of Duggar Pradesh.
Kavi Goshthi was conducted by Pawan Verma. A number of litterateur and Dogri lovers attended the function.
