Dogri Sanstha launches Nirmal Vikram’s ‘Lal Diary’

JAMMU, Nov 5: Dogri Sanstha Jammu unveiled Nirmal Vikram’s collection of short stories, titled “Lal Diary” at the Writers’ Club, KL Sehgal Hall, here today.
A statement said that Prakash Premi, a distinguished Dogri litterateur and Sahitya Akademi Awardee, attended the event as the Chief Guest, Prof Lalit Magotra, President of Dogri Sanstha, presided over the ceremony while Dr Arvinder Singh “Amn,” the former Additional Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, Prof Veena Gupta, Vice-President of Dogri Sanstha, graced the occasion as special guests.
Prakash Premi praised Nirmal Vikram’s standing as a renowned short story writer in the Dogri language, emphasizing that “Lal Diary” attests to her skill.
Prof Lalit Magotra expressed his admiration for the captivating stories within “Lal Diary,” highlighting the author’s potential.
Dr Arvinder Singh “Amn” and Prof Veena Gupta extended their congratulations to the short story writer, underlining the book’s valuable addition to the already rich Dogri literature.
During the event, Nirmal Vikram provided insight into her journey as a short story writer and the creative process behind “Lal Diary.” She also engaged the audience by reading one of the stories from the book.
Promila Manhas presented a comprehensive paper on the book, further enriching the event.
