JAMMU, Aug 9: A musical programme “Sangeet Sandhya” based on the poetry of Dogri poet Susheel Begana was organized today by Dogri Sanstha Jammu at K L Saigal Hall.
Sham Sajan, nationally renowned singer and music composer had provided music to the lyrics. In all, five gazals and one geet, penned down by Begana, were presented to audience in mellifluous voices of Gurucharan Kour, Apporva Jamwal, Manju Bala, Virender Kapadia, Shyam Manyal and Sham Sajan himself.
Sanjay Pashi and Karan Malhotra provided the accompaniment on Guitar and tabla in a masterly manner.
D C Raina, former Advocate General and Vijay Singh Sambyal, Director Prasar Bharti Jammu, were the special guests on the occasion.
Prof Lalit Mangotra, president Dogri Sanstha, said that this was tenth monthly programme of the series started by Dogri Sanstha, where the poetry of one particular poet is highlighted through music.
