JAMMU, Jan 8: Dogri Sanstha Jammu released its Calendar for the year 2022.
The calendar is in Dogri as well as English and shows all the Government holidays along with important festivals, fairs and other significant religious and social events of people of this region.
A handout stated that other noteworthy highlight of the calendar is that it features the photographs and brief introduction of prominent Dogri writers who are no more with us now.
Every leaf of the calendar presents a glimpse of some Dogra folk dance as a backdrop. This tastefully designed calendar was released by senior members and office bearers of Dogri Sanstha in a simple function held here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Sanstha president said that spirit behind publication of such a calendar is to connect the people of Jammu to their language, culture, heritage and roots.
“It is also to remind them of the great contribution of Dogri stalwarts who have enriched Dogri language and literature through their outstanding writings,” he maintained.
Others present on the occasion were Prof. Veena Gupta, Prof. Shashi Pathania, Dr. Chanchal Bhasin, Susheel Begana and Vijaya Thakur – office bearers of Dogri Sanstha Jammu.
