REASI, Jan 6: Some domestic animals and poultry birds were charred to death in two separate incidents of accidental fire in Sujandhar area and Arnas , here late last night.
Reports said that fire broke out during the intervening night around 2 am in the Kacha house of Kiker Singh son of Nek Ram of Mohalla Baralla in Sujandhar area. Due to the fire, two cows , one buffalo, one newly born calf and some poultry birds were charred to death even as all the family members managed to escape with the help of locals, who controlled the blazes.
Cause of fire could not be immediately ascertained. The area came under Police Post Tote and Police Station Reasi.
Meanwhile, reports from Chassana said that one buffalo, three cows, five sheep, six goats and two calfs were burnt alive due to sudden fire in two houses.
Fire broke out into the houses of Bashir Ahmed son of Sadiq and Shama Begum , wife of Ishira Gujjar of Chaklas. Because of fire, both the houses reduced to ashes while the domestic animals were also charred to death.
