Domestic help, CRPF jawan arrested in stabbing cases

JAMMU, May 20: Jammu Police today arrested a dumb domestic help and a CRPF jawan in two separate incidents of stabbing cases that took place in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a middle aged domestic help stabbed a girl servant for money in posh Trikuta Nagar locality of South Jammu. ”Bal Krishan, 52, working as a domestic help in a house in Trikuta Nagar this afternoon stabbed a girl namely Poonam, 22, resident of West Bengal, who was also working as a servant in the same house,” SP Shazad Slaria, SP South here said.
Slaria said the accused, who reportedly was specially abled (dumb) in his statement has confessed that the girl had borrowed Rs 13,800 from him but was not paying back the money.
”According to the accused, this afternoon he asked for his money but the girl argued with him following which in a fit of anger, he stabbed her with a sharp kitchen knife,” said the SP. He asserted that profusely bleeding girl ran out of the house, raised alarm and fell unconscious on the road, adding, “Police rushed to the spot and shifted the girl to the hospital where she was given immediate treatment.”
”The victim is critical but so far out of danger,” he said and added that the accused has been nabbed while a case under Section 307 of RPC has been registered and investigation started.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, a CRPF personnel was arrested for stabbing his wife and mother-in-law in Barnai area of Domana on city outskirts. ”A CRPF Jawan identified as Vikram Sodhi alias Vicky, son of Thoru Ram, a resident of village Pouni Chack, attacked his wife and mother-in-law over some family issue with sharp-edged weapon,” Arun Gupta, SP Rural said.
He said the accused managed to flee from the spot but apprehended later. The victims with serious injuries were immediately rushed to the Government Medical College hospital, where their condition is stated to be critical.
The injured were identified as his wife Jyoti Devi and mother-in-law Darshna Devi. A case has been registered and investigation started, police added.
