JAMMU, Mar 29: A domestic violence accused was arrested by police from Indira Gandhi (IG) Airport while the former was making an attempt to flee to UK.
According to police, on March 26, 2024, a woman Dali Kumari wife of Sushil Kumar of Hakkal, Jammu reported domestic violence by her husband.
On this, an enquiry was initiated, and the IO, on the basis of the statements of Dali Kumari and other circumstantial witnesses, proved the offences against the accused, he said.
The police spokesperson further said that later a case FIR number 56/2024 under sections 498-A, 494,504,506,120-B IPC was registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
Fearing that the accused can flee from India to abroad, SSP Jammu issued a Look Out Circular against the accused, which was circulated to the Assistant Director, Bureau of Immigration, New Delhi, he said.
“Today, the accused person was detained at IG Airport while he was trying to flee from the country by a team of Police Station Satwari and taken to custody,” he added.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway.
