Donating blood life-saving attempt, noble cause: SDPO Akhnoor

JAMMU, Oct 16: Blood donation is a life saving attempt and a noble cause and every healthy person should donate his/her blood once in a year.
This was stated today Deputy SP Ajay Sharma, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Akhnoor, during a blood donation-cum-awareness camp organized by Bajrang Dal at Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor. A large number of youth from Akhnoor town participated in the programme.
Motivating the youth for blood donation, Deputy SP Ajay Sharma said, “Blood donation is a noble cause as blood can’t be manufactured like other things, it can only be given to save the lives. One doesn’t lose anything if he/she donates blood as human body has a regenerating mechanism.”
The officer said that a healthy adult can donate blood 3-4 times a year without any problem. He also said that everyone should donate blood as it replicates human values and social responsibility towards our society. Besides this, blood donation enhances the sense of pride in a person.
To encourage the youth, the SDPO also donated his blood after and following him, 32 more youth donated their blood. A total of 33 bottles of blood were donated by local youth.
The SDPO also made the youth aware about drug abuse. He encouraged them to become the civil warriors and play active role in J&K Police’s drive against drugs. The youth were further guided to channelize their energies towards healthy nation building.
