JAMMU, Mar 20: The Chairperson of District Development Council (DDC) Ramban, Dr Shamshad Shan has demanded that Gool-Sangaldan should be made a new Assembly Constituency for development of the area and Pogal-Paristan should not be bifurcated between two Constituencies.
In a letter written to the Secretary Delimitation Commission Dr. Shan said that the recent draft notification of Delimitation Commission has put some Panchayats of Pogal-Paristan tehsil in Ramban and others in Banihal Constituencies.
She said that there is lot of resentment in public regarding this development.
The DDC Chairperson also said that no consideration of regional, geographical, social and political aspirations was taken into account while the draft notification was framed.
She said that Pogal-Paristan should be entirely taken to Ramban Constituency or Banihal Constituency but not that some Panchayats are taken to Ramban and others to Banihal Constituency.
