Don’t coerce migrant employees to return Kashmir: ADKUF

JAMMU, Nov 16: A meeting of the All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) was held under the chairmanship of P L Sudeshi its president at Durga Nagar near here, today.
It while discussing the various issues concerning the displaced Pandits from Valley appealed the Government not to compel migrant employees to return to Kashmir in view of the grave security situation prevailing there.
It said these employees haven’t come out of their choice instead circumstances have compelled them to resort to migration again and such atmosphere was deliberately created many a times in past too. The Forum said that no body will like to return at the risk of his life. Government and security agencies must concentrate on creating a permanent peaceful atmosphere in the Valley to build confidence of minority community and the menace of minority killings must be stopped forthwith.
Forum urged the Lt Governor to solve the long pending demand of increasing cash assistance of displaced community to a minimum of Rs 25000 as the existing relief is too insufficient to meet the daily expenses. It said the relief holders having no other source of income are passing through hard times and are protesting continuously for the past more than a year.
Participants paid glowing tributes to its ex chairman and veteran Trade Unionist, DN Kissu who served the community to his last breath.
Chief Advisor of the Forum Prof. GL Koul, president Women Wing, Phoola Koul, general secretary, PN Raina, C L Zutshi, B N Bhat, M L Koul, P L Razdan, N N Dhar and Balji Pandita also spoke in the meeting.
