Don’t demoralize Army, paramilitary forces: Singh

SAMBA, July 6: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh warned such forces, who were trying to demoralize moral of Army and para forces in J&K. Singh was addressing a gathering to pay homage to the martyr Sepoy Gurdeep Singh alias Sony, son of Mohan Singh of Shekupura, who laid down his life for the nation in Kargil on July 6, 1999. Ashwani Sharma, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Bishnah and Tarlok Singh Bajwa, Former Member Parliament were also present. “There are some forces who are bent on downing the morale of the security forces fighting for the cause of the nation in J&K but we will not give them chance to materialize them motive”, he added. Ashwani Sharma and Tarlok Singh Bajwa, while addressing the people said that they should not forget the sacrifices of the soldiers for the nation and follow their footsteps. Meanwhile, another function was organized in village Koulpur where the villagers remembered martyr Hawaldar Kulveer Singh, who also sacrificed his life for the sake of the nation in Kargil. While speaking at Village Koulpur, Manjit Singh said that the Government should remove the VAT imposed on the Army canteens for the facility of the armed forces like other States of the Country. Among others present were retd Colonel Charanjit Singh, Jarnail Singh Khalsa, Yash Paul Sharma, Manjit Singh, Gutam Singh, Verinder Sharma, Parshotam Sharma, etc.
