JAMMU, Aug 1: Senior BJP leader and former Vice Chairman SC, ST, OBC Corporation Balbir Ram Rattan today asked people not to fall prey to false narrative of Congress and other opposition parties.
Addressing massive SC Sammelan of the party, here, today Balbir Ram Rattan, said that the members of the community should not fall prey to the false narrative of Congress and its allies and support Narendra Modi’s good governance model.
Balbir Ram, who had been deputed as the main speaker in the Sammelan of Jammu North Assembly constituency, said that the Congress always treated SCs as vote bank and did nothing in practical for their socio-economic upliftment. It was the Congress, which only made false promises and succeeded in getting votes of SCs and as a result, it retained power for decades together but it cannot mislead the members of this community anymore because people are well informed today and have access to the fast and modern means of communication and information.
Balbir was referring to the false narrative of Congress and its allies, which during the recent general elections, had unleashed a false campaign that ‘BJP would change the Constitution and remove reservation’ if it get 400 seats.
BJP district president, Omi Khajuria, spoke in length about numerous welfare schemes of the Modi Government, which have reached the doorsteps of every section of the society. He said that every section, class and region is getting its due share in welfare schemes and development projects of the Modi Government.
Former MLA and Incharge constituency programmes, Shiv Dev Singh, said that there has been vast change in the lives of SCs who have been benefitted by various welfare schemes of Narendra Modi Government. He, in particular, mentioned that the refugees from West Pakistan, which have about 70 per cent from among SCs, have been granted citizenship rights and vested with land ownership rights by the Modi Government.
SC Morcha State general secretaries, Adarsh Jathiar and Gulshan Bhagat, SC Morcha district president, Manohar Lal, Mandal presidents, Tara Chand and Madan Lal also addressed the Sammelan.
