JAMMU, Nov 13: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) today urged Union Territory (UT) authorities not to force PM package employees to rejoin their duties in Kashmir Valley till conducive atmosphere prevails there.
In a statement issued here KPC chief, Kundan Kashmiri said “Asking PM package and other employees to join their duties without assuring any foolproof security or secured accommodations and other safety means, who have left the places of their duties under serious life threat soon after their selective killings in the Valley, the Government was deliberately exposing them to grave risk”.
He also criticized the authorities of withholding their salaries saying this way the Government was coercing them to join their duties in Valley which is unacceptable to the KPs who are a miniscule minority and have faced persecution for centuries together.
He said KPC resents and condemns such type of decision and harassment towards the community employees in Valley by the Government, which without understanding the facts that these employees are unable to work under life threat and are being soft targets of the terrorists and other elements who are responsible for ethnic cleansing and forced exodus of the peace loving Pandits from their home and hearts, to achieve their communal and political goal.
Kundan Kashmiri, again appealed concerned authorities to sympathetically realise the compulsions and plight of these employees who are facing it for last 12 years of service in Valley.
He further said that no doubt these youth have opted to work in the Valley under compelling circumstances for making their both ends meet but not on the cost of their life. Hence forcing them to join their duties in Valley is inhumane, unethical and unconstitutional.
