“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” These words by Jane Goodall was reverberated philanthropist Dileep Kumar Kandula to embark upon a journey for the welfare of the marginalized people.
Following his noble pursuit, he founded an NGO, Dooradrushti Foundation, to guide the weaker section of our society and help them lead a life of dignity. Today, the relentless and selfless efforts of Dileep and his team have transformed many lives.
He envisaged one of the most unique and innovative campaigns, ‘Donate Only One Rupee,’ that attracted the attention of thousands of people across India. Dileep understood that people take a back seat due to financial constraints even when they want to donate.
Dooradrushti Foundation wanted to break this misconception that only the rich can contribute, so he came up with the idea where a large number of people can contribute. This initiative has by far helped 80 people with the basic tenets of health and education, and the visionaries wish to scale this till the last man standing. This altruistic campaign is a guardian of hope in the lives of marginalized people.
His knack for excellence helped him to upscale this magnanimous and humanitarian vision and bring about a change in society. He started with small but progressive steps. Today, he has transformed several lives through his sustained efforts and has become the epitome of kindness.
His zeal to make a difference has made him a role model for many. Motivated by his vision, many people across India actively extend their support to Dooradrushti Foundation by actively contributing to its campaigns.
Recently, Dooradrushti Foundation was bestowed upon the most revered award of ‘Innovative NGO of the year award’ by Mint Business awards. “I believe serving a fellow human is the ultimate form of ecstasy. My team and I deeply enjoy putting a smile on someone’s face. The journey had lots of challenges, but we remained undeterred as we were clear about our aim from the beginning. Today, the appreciation and recognition I received is a tribute to the efforts of my team and volunteers who earnestly come forward to help the people in need of help. This award has reinstated our belief in our mission, and we would like to continue to contribute through more innovative campaigns”, says Dileep.
When asked about how difficult it was for him at the start, he mentioned, “I believe that when you want to bring change in society, you ought to face multiple challenges. Initially, we also found various obstacles, but we always looked at them as a challenge, and through team efforts, we overcame them. We have a firm belief in our mission, and as a regular practice, we define the possible challenges that can come in our operations. It helps us improve and devise our roadmap accordingly and be prepared.”
Before this, the efforts of Dileep Kandula and his NGO Dooradrushti Foundation were widely recognized by several organizations and awarded suitably. His consistent social work also drew the attention of famous actor Vijay Deverakonda who appreciated him personally and contributed monetary donations for the NGO.
In the future, Dileep seeks to further extend the range of services of Dooradrushti Foundation and help more people who have remained downtrodden. Kindled with a passion for human care, his generous and noteworthy pursuit will surely extend its reach and make a difference.
