DoPT nod to extension in DGP’s services

JAMMU, Sept 27: The Centre has approved Jammu and Kashmir Government proposal to grant three months extension in the services of Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar, who was, otherwise, due to retire on September 30.
After approval by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the DoPT today issued an order granting extension of three months in the services of Kumar with effect from October 1.
The DGP will now have tenure till December 31, 2016.
The State Government had proposed 3-month extension in the services of K Rajendra Kumar due to ongoing unrest in the Kashmir valley.
