JAMMU, Sept 5: The Department of Personnel & Trainings (DoPT), Government of India today referred the case of fake arms license of Jammu and Kashmir to the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) for study and reverting with their views.
When contacted, Union Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Dr Jitendra Singh, Incharge DoPT, told the Excelsior that the request has been received from Jammu and Kashmir Government for handing over investigations of the case to the CBI.
“Without wasting any time, the DoPT immediately sent the case to the CBI to study and revert with its views regarding acceptance,” Dr Jitendra Singh said.
It may be mentioned here that major fake license racket had surfaced in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan with many similarities involving at least 10 districts of the State and some IAS officers.
Initially, the case was handed over to the State Vigilance Organization but in view of inter-State racket, the State Government had decided to handover the case to the CBI.
