JAMMU, Aug 10: In a remarkable feat, Dr Vikas Padha (Senior Joint Replacement Surgeon at Narayana Hospital, Katra) has achieved a significant milestone of doing 200 plus joint replacement surgeries in about last one and a half years.
Dr Vikas Padha had performed 105 Joint Replacement Surgeries in single calendar year 2023 and in about first half of year 2024 itself, he has completed another century of Joint Replacement Surgeries. These surgeries mainly include Total Knee Replacement and Total Hip Replacement Surgeries.
“I had joined SMVD Narayana Hospital Katra in 2017 and have been regularly doing Joint Replacement Surgeries for almost a decade. The cases I have operated upon include very challenging complex Joint Replacement Surgeries that are done in very few selected Joint Replacement Centres in the country,” said Dr Vikas Padha.
He further added that he has successfully done Joint Replacement Surgeries in cancer survivors as well which became possible due to world class infrastructure and highly skilled manpower available at Narayana Hospital Katra.
“Earlier patients used to go outside Jammu for getting Joint Replacement Surgeries done but now Narayana Hospital Katra has established itself as preferred centre for Joint Replacement Surgeries in J&K looking at these huge numbers of Joint Replacement Surgeries being done,” he further added.
It is pertinent to mention that majority of these Joint Replacement Surgeries that cost around 2-2.5 lakh Rupees per surgery are being done free of cost under Ayushman Bharat Scheme with Golden Card at Narayana Hospital Katra.
