JAMMU, Jan 13: To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Thakur Baldev Singh Chib, an eminent Social Activist and Former President of Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, a function was organised here today.
The function was presided over by R S Chib, former Minister and General Secretary, DPAP in which a large number of prominent farmers and Civil Society members participated.
The function started with floral tribute by the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, R S Chib described Thakur Baldev Singh, a saintly figure, a great social activist and a human being par excellence, who devoted his life for serving the common man.
He said that Thakur Baldev Singh Chib authored many books in Urdu and Hindi. The prominent among them were, Amar-Kahani, Athara-Din, Trishul, Jai Jai Rajasthan, Meri Pasand and Deva Watala.
Thakur Baldev Singh played an important role in the settlement of Refugees of 1947 and was a guiding force for the refugees while they were living in the camps organized by the Government at different places, he said.
Among others who paid their tribute included Ajaib Singh Mottan, Prof Jai Singh, Prof Sohan Singh, Master Rajdev Singh, Ex-Sarpanch Raghunath Singh, Retd Asstt Comdt Ravinder Singh, Kehar Singh, Darshan Lal Bhagat, Ch Darshan Lal, Kasturi Singh, Tarsem Singh, Dr Balbir Singh, Bhagat Pawan Kumar, and Labh Singh, President, R S Pura Bus Route.
