DPAP Displaced Wing urges Govt to solve problems of migrants

JAMMU, Feb 29: Kashmiri Displaced Wing of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) highlighted the demands of Kashmiri migrants in a meeting here, today.
President DPAP displaced Wing, Sanjay Dhar and its chairman Piaray Lal Pandita urged the Government to settle the burning issues of Kashmiri migrants immediately.
General Secretary Raj Kumar Ticku and Naveen Gosani youth president also attended the meeting.
They demanded providing of ration on payment at free sale rates to low paid employees, pensioners and daily wagers which was stopped for unknown reasons since a long time. The same be provided without further delay in view of the Maha Shivratri festival besides Atta stands stopped to Relief holders for last six months which should also be released as there is highest rate of diabetic patients among migrants who are dependent on flour only and are not able to purchase the same at high market rates.
They said in view of the coming festival of Maha Shivratri the ration of March and cash assistance be released immediately with supply of three Kgs Sugar per family. The Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department and other concerned departments are requested to frequently visit camps w.e.f, 28.02.24 to 08.03.2024 with flying squared to check the quality, rate of commodities vegetables, milk products required during the festival and special arrangements of walnut supply by Horticulture Department requires to be made in camps in advance and not on the day of Maha Shivratri.
The leaders have appealed the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner to issue instructions to the concerned authorities for ensuring proper water/ power supply, sanitation, deployment of police during festive period and make it binding on Nodal Officer to monitor the same with two time water supply on festival days.
