Addressing a press conference here today, Jammu provincial vice-president of the Party, Ashok Sharma said Jammu “becoming the centre of terror incidents” reflects the “strategic failure” of the Modi Government and demanded the Centre to give a befitting reply to Pakistan for sponsoring these terror incidents.
Sharma said the figures show that the number of civilians and security forces personnel martyred in terrorist incidents in the Jammu region has doubled since January 2023. He said the centre of terror incidents has now shifted from the Kashmir valley to Jammu and this “reflects the strategic failure” of the Modi Government.
He also lambasted the Government for Agnipath scheme. “There are thousands of posts vacant in different Government departments but instead of filling these posts, the Government’s focus is on Agnipath scheme,” he said, adding, this anti-youth attitude of the Government is pushing the disappointed unemployment youth of J&K towards drugs and other criminal activities.
Sharma also criticized the LG Administration in J&K for turning the City of Temples into ‘City of Wine Shops’. He said the Assembly elections in J&K are due and if DPAP forms Government in J&K, all the Government posts will be filled on priority and all the wine shops will be closed in the City of Temples.
Others present on the occasion were Party spokesperson Ashwani Handa, Jammu district president Gourav Chopra, general secretary Prakash Chand Dingra, Jammu district president (Rural North) Ashok Bhagat, Jammu district president (Rural South) Balbir Singh and vice-president of zonal committee Kamalpreet.
