JAMMU, Apr 9: Several DPAP leaders from District Rajouri, Doda and Jammu, including Rajinder Prasad Sharma (Adv), son of former Minister Master Beli Ram of Nowshera, ST Welfare State president and son of former MLC Ch Noor Mohd of Bhales Chili, Satveer Singh Manhas (Social activist), Rishav Sharma, Randhir Singh Manhas, Vikrant Singh Manhas, Lakhan Manhas Sachin Sharma, Anit Sharma, Jai Partap, Sumit Sharma and many others joined the Congress party PCC Headquarters Shaheedi Chowk Jammu in the presence of PCC president Vikar Rasool Wani.
They were welcomed in the party fold by JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani, senior vice presidents Th Balwan Singh and Ravinder Sharma (Chief spokesperson), vice president TS Bajwa (ex-MP) & Vinod Sharma general secretary (Org) Narinder Gupta; general secretaries TS. Tony (DDC), Narinder Sharma, Thomas Khokhar, Bhushan Dogra and others.
Speaking on the occasion PCC chief said that Congress party is an instrument of service to the people, which has remained dedicated to the cause of serving the people. The Congress is duty bound to address the urges and aspirations of the people, for the fact, it is the Congress Party alone which has always taken care of the urges and aspirations of the common man. Congress has been pioneer in implementing revolutionary programmes aimed at improving the conditions of the people, especially those living in remote and backward areas.
He said Congress party believes in strengthening the people and is committed to equitable development of the State. He described BJP dispensation as anti-poor, anti youth, anti kissan and due to its wrong policies the sufferings of the people increased manifold. The insensitive government pushed people to the wall, as unemployment has increased, prices have risen and developmental activities have suffered a lot. He claimed that BJP Government pushed back State in all sectors during last more than nine years.
PCC chief appealed to the people to cast their valuable votes in favour of Congress and ensure victory of both candidates Ch Lal Singh and Raman Bhalla, adding that it will be a vote against the broken promises of BJP.
