JAMMU, May 22: The Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief Vikar Rasool Wani welcomed Sarpanchs, Ward members, Executive members and prominent workers of different political parties including majority from DPAP from Doda constituency under the leadership of Congress leader Sheikh Riyaz Ahmed into the folds of the Indian National Congress in Jammu.
Terming it an outcome of the Congress Party’s struggle to protect the rights of the people irrespective of their colour, region or religion, they showed full faith in the Congress Party’s pro-people policies and appreciate the strenuous efforts of the Party (Congress) to ensure safety, equal treatment and justice for people.
On this occasion Wani slammed BJP Govt for robbing people of J&K of their democratic rights and the subsequent betrayals on various fronts especially when it comes to restoration of statehood and holding of elections in J&K leading to a discontent and disenchantment amongst the people.
Congress will continue to fight for restoration of statehood with constitutional guarantees and will make the BJP Govt accountable and answerable to people for failing and betraying them, Wani added and said despite promising to restore Statehood J&K on the floor of the house a tactical delay is being managed on this count aiming to rule J&K directly from the Centre.
