DPAP organizes minority workers’ convention

JAMMU, July 31: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) organised a one-day minority workers’ convention in which members of minority community participated.
The convention was addressed by General Secretary R S Chib and Provincial President Jugal Kishore Sharma who said that DPAP is all for the rights of minorities as Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad is firm believer in equal opportunity to members of all communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Our chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad believes in equality and opportunity for all irrespective of caste, colour or creed. As the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, he proved it right by allocation of equal funds to three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh,” Chib said.
Lauding the contribution of members of Sikh community in all spheres of life in Jammu and Kashmir, Provincial President Jugal Kishore Sharma assured them of DPAP’s commitment in the protection of minority rights. He further said that if DPAP is voted to power, the minorities will be given representation wherever it is needed. He also said that minorities cells will be constituted at District Level.
The one-day convention was organised by the new Convenor of Minorities, Sardar Kirtan Singh. Among others, who were present on the occasion, included Anita Thakur, Gen Secretary; Distt President Gourav Chopra; Provincial Gen Secretary Sobat Ali; Jodh Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Mahila President Prabha Salathia, Vickey Mahajan, Darshan Kumar, Jagdish Raj, Bodh Raj, Pinky Manhas, Raghbir Singh, Anoop Khajuria, Suraj Prakash Sharma, Jaswant Singh, Jasbir Singh, Charanjit Singh, Harmeet Singh, Mrs Popli, Naresh Maini, Inderjit Singh, Mohinder Singh and others.
