KALAKOTE, July 20: The activists of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) along with locals of the area held strong protest demonstration at Kalakote town today in district Rajouri against drinking water and power crisis in this additional district.
A protest march held at Kalakote was led by former Legislator and DPAP vice-president for Jammu Province, Ashok Sharma. The protestors were shouting slogans against the LG administration and concerned PHE and PDD authorities. They alleged that LG administration has failed to ensure essential supplies to the public.
The protest march in the town culminated with a submission of 21 points memorandum containing demands of general public to Lt Governor through Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kalakote. Sharma urged the ADC Kalakote to pull up local administration and ensure better water and power supply to the people.
Prominent among others who addressed the gathering or accompanied ex-MLA included Rattan Lal, Som Raj Khajuria, Mohd Farooq, Kashmir Singh, Kuldeep Raina, Shabir Mirza, Kewal Krishan, Arjun Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Master Vijay Sharma, Ch Mohd. Shabir, Abdul Ghani, Gurjeet Singh, Sham Lal and others.
