DPAP to set up Minority Comm if party comes to power: Chib

JAMMU, Sept 11: Former minister and Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) general secretary, RS Chib has said if DPAP is elected to power it will ensure establishment of Minority Commission in J&K.
This assurance was given by Chib while addressing a meeting of the Minority Cell of the party here today.
“Rest assured minority communities will be given special attention as people are aware about the period when DPAP chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad was Chief Minister. All regions, religions, caste and creed were equally treated during his tenure,” Chib said.
The meeting was organised by convenor of DPAP Minority Cell, Keertan Singh who conveyed the message of chairman to all members. The chairman has nominated Jagjit Singh as president Jammu South district.
On the occasion, scores of activists and members of the minority community joined DPAP and extended full support to the party.
Prominent among those who joined the party, included- Jagjit Singh, Jasmeet Singh, Jodh Singh, Jaspal Singh, Ashish Gill, Rocky Gill, Dalip Kumar, Ravinder Singh, Iqbal Singh and others.
Former Minister and Zonal president Choudhary Gharu Ram, Provincial general secretary Maheshwar Singh, Provincial general secretary Gurmeet Kaur and Keertan Singh also spoke on the occasion.
Flaying the UT administration for installation of smart meters, move to impose property tax, poor power supply and delay in holding elections to assembly, Gharu Ram said anti-people measures are taking toll on people of Jammu who have hardly any resources to suffice their livelihood in the wake of economic slump.
The meeting was also addressed by District president Jammu (South) Balbir Singh and president Sharnarthi Action Committee, Gurdev Singh.
