JAMMU, Nov 8: The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting of Police Department, which was scheduled to be held today, has been postponed due to preoccupation of some of the Committee members.
Home Secretary B R Sharma, who was one of the members of the Committee, told the Excelsior that the meeting now would be held in the next few days.
“We are ready for the meeting. Everything including the agenda is ready. It would be held very soon”, Mr Sharma said.
It may be mentioned here that Police Headquarters had mooted the proposal for promotion of four IGPs of 1987 batch of IPS as Additional DGPs, five DIGs of 1995 batch as IGPs and 11 SSPs of 1999 batch as DIGs.
The DPC comprised Chief Secretary Madhav Lal, Home Secretary B R Sharma and Director General of Police Ashok Prasad.
