DPR to determine Jammu Rly Divn’s jurisdiction

JAMMU, Jan 1: Final jurisdiction of Jammu Railways Division under Northern Railways will be determined based on Detailed Project Report (DPR), an official statement released by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, said today.

The new division will have four sections totaling 742.1 kilometers including Pathankot-Jammu-Udhampur (now Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan)-Srinagar-Baramulla (423 kilometers). Bhogpur Sirwal-Pathankot (87.21 kilometers), Batala (excluding)-Pathankot (68.17 kilometers) and Pathankot-Joginder Nagar (NG Section 163.72 kilometers).
“The Divisional Headquarters office at Jammu would be set up as modern office utilizing the full potential of Information Technology. It will have a lean organization setup. All the posts required for working of new division will be provided from existing posts of Northern Railway,” a Railway Ministry statement said.
It added that the DPR would be submitted early to assess the infrastructure requirements and organizational structure needed for setting up the division, and modalities of staff transfer to new division.
