DPs’ delegation takes up affidavit issue with Minister

JAMMU, Dec 20: A delegation of displaced persons of 1947, 1965, 1971, under the leadership of Avinash Choudhary, a social activist met the Minister for PHE, I&FC Sham Choudhary and apprised him of the problems being faced by the DPs for applying to the Revenue & Relief authorities for receiving the compensation granted by the Central Government under PM’s package.
The delegation members raised queries before the minister to clarify the confusion created by the disbursing authority regarding the affidavit sought by them where in the item No. 3 and 4, it is mentioned that the DPs shall not make claim for further compensation.
Avinash Choudhary also put the matter regarding the camp and non-camp DPs as well as those DPs whose names have been written in the register but have not issued the Alif form. In response, the minister briefly clarified the quarries that the there is no need of filing such type of affidavit and also said that there is no need of Alif form. He further told that he had placed the matter before the concerned disbursing authority to frame a committee which deals the matter and clarify the confusions and also assured that the Central Govt as well as State Govt shall make the easy provision for the disbursement of compensation granted by the Central Govt.
He cautioned the DPs to remain vigilant from the self style leaders who are creating confusion because these leaders did nothing during their regime for the DPs for the past 70 years. It is the BJP Govt which has considered the long pending demands of the DPs and said that the BJP is committed to fulfill all the agendas of manifesto framed during the elections.
The minister further claimed that State BJP has already taken up the matter regarding relief/ compensation to the border villagers who suffered damages/ losses during shelling by Pakistan.
