DPS Nagbani organises lecture on ‘Healthy Food Habits and Lifestyle’

JAMMU, Sept 11: To promote healthy living and personal hygiene, a guest lecture on ‘Healthy Food Habits and Lifestyle’ was organized today at Delhi Public School Nagbani.
Dr. Mitali Gupta was the resource person who said that a child’s mental and physical development is closely linked to good nutrition and healthy eating habits.
She stressed that healthy habits also affect children’s behaviour and social growth.
Dr Gupta said, as educators, the teachers use numerous teaching strategies to engage the students but if child’s diet has not met his basic nutritional needs then their efforts prove to be ineffective.
“It is important for a child to consume a balanced diet and participate in regular physical activities to achieve success in life,” she further said.
The Principal of the school R.K Verma while addressing the gathering said, eating healthy and being physically active are important parts of feeling good.
“When we eat well our body gets the nutrients and energy we need to grow, eating well also helps to concentrate and perform better in activities that are important in school and it helps in lowering the stress level and increasing ones confidence,” he maintained.
M.K Ajatshatru Singh, Chairman/Trustee-Maharaja Hari Singh Social & Education Foundation; Kunwrani Ritu Singh-Trustee; Rajkumar Ranvijay Singh-Trustee; Rajkumari Adishree Singh-Trustee and S.S Sodhi-Director, DPS Nagbani were also present on the occasion.
