JAMMU, June 22:The displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir today held protest demonstration, demanding early disbursement of  relief amount announced by the Prime Minister about seven months back.
While demanding justice for the displaced persons from PoJK and other categories of refugees, the activists of  PoJK DPs’ Front 1947, 1965, 1971 (Camp and Non-camp) organised  protest programme at Exhibition Ground near Press Club, here today.
The members of displaced families under the leadership of  Capt Yudhvir Singh Chib assembled near Press Club and started protest rally in the morning.  They  demanded that process of distribution of Rs 2000 crore package announced by Prime Minister be commenced without any more delay. They pointed out that already seven months have been consumed but package is no where in sight. They claimed that this amount can not be treated as full and final package and as many other components of the package,  even recommended by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), have been ignored.
The displaced persons including women activists under the banner of  Jammu and Kashmir PoJK DPs Front-1947, 65 & 71 held strong protest and issued warning to the Government not to befool the refugees any more. They said that the notification issued by the State authorities is not suitable and moreover,  very complex system has been devised to prepare the papers. They demanded that the  system be simplified and notification issued be the DC be amended.
Capt Chib said that Government has projected nearly 36,284 registered families while many unregistered families have been left out. They should also be registered. The DPs’ leader though lauded Prime Minister, Modi for announcing Rs 2000 crore financial package for them but claimed that  it was incomplete  as other issues with regard to political, social, education and reservation etc for their wards were set aside and not included in the package. There is no clarity in PM’s package and all type of displaced persons were still confused over it. The officials concerned in the Revenue department were not cooperating to get the old record form their respective offices and a direction should go to them from Divisional Commissioner Jammu so that these families are not harassed.
Prominent among others accompanying Capt Chib included JP Sharma ( gen secy), Sakandhya Devi (women wing president), Kulbir Singh, Kuldip Singh, Thoru Ram, S. Hari Singh  and Master Kehar Singh.
