JAMMU, Apr 18: Demanding justice for all type of displaced persons from PoJK besides camp and non-camp refugees, the activists of PoJK DPs front 1947, 1965 and 1971 organised a rally at Exhibition Ground here today.
The DPs under the leadership of Rashpal Singh Chib assembled near Press Club here and started demonstration at Exhibition Ground. They  demanded that process of distribution of Rs 2000 crore package announced by Prime Minister Modi be started but merely this amount was not acceptable. It can not be a full and final package and moreover many other components of the package even recommended by the Joint Parliamentary Committee have been ignored.
In fact displaced persons including women activists under the banner of  Jammu and Kashmir PoJK DPs Front-1947, 65 & 71 today assembled here for salvation and awareness rally. They also held brief protest against the PRO for his allegedly shady role  in previous package and ignoring many deserving families. They were raising slogans in support of their demands. Many of them were also carrying banners and placards in hands, depicting their demands.
They expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for announcing Rs 2000 crore financial package but claimed that  it was incomplete  as other issues with regard to political, social, education and reservation etc for their wards were set aside and not included in the package. There is no clarity in PM’s package and all type of displaced persons were still confused.
Rachhpal Singh Chib, president of the Front, while addressing the large gathering of displaced persons said that Parliamentary Standing Committee of Home Affairs and JAC had strongly recommended comprehensive package. But without the inclusion of political, social and educational components, the said package will remain incomplete.
Mr Chib said that during previous Assembly elections, Mr Modi had made tall announcement of package before elections but that has not been fulfilled and the members of the community are watching this all very closely.     He also demanded that refugee leaders should be taken into confidence before disbursement of financial package. He said  proper verification be done before disbursement of  package so that deserving people are not left out.
