JAMMU, Apr 12: Jammu & Kashmir BJP spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, said that the Narendra Modi led Government has truly recognized the services of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Talking to reporters here, today Balbir Ram Rattan said that after coming to power, BJP Government identified all the important places associated with different stages of the life of Dr. Ambedkar and developed them into museums and memorials to keep alive the ideals and memory of the Architect of the Constitution of India. Earlier, these places were either for name sake or not developed properly, he added.
He said that Dr. Ambedkar, also known as ‘massiah of Dalits’ did not get true honour for his services from the successive governments after independence, particularly the Congress.
Balbir said that Ambedkar Jayanti is an annual festival observed on April 14 to mark Baba Sahib’s birthday who was born on this day in 1891. Since 2015, after Modi Government came into power, it has been observed as official public holiday throughout India.

Ambedkar Memorial in Delhi, where Dr. Ambedkar breathed his last, has also been further developed. Chaitya Bhoomi has been set up in Mumbai, where he was cremated after his death, Deeksha Bhoomi, is the place, where Dr. B.R. Ambedkar converted to Buddhism, he added.
Balbir said Shiksha Bhoomi Memorial has been set up abroad, where the icon lived for several years while pursuing higher studies at the London School of Economic.
Dr. Ambedkar was conferred with Bharat Ratna on the instance of BJP, when it was supporting V.P. Singh Government in 1990, he added.
