Srinagar, Aug 2: The Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department today appointed Dr Anjum Farhana as the new Principal of Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, following the retirement of the in-charge Principal, Prof. Tariq Syed Qureshi.
Dr Anjum Farhana, who currently heads the Department of Microbiology at GMC Srinagar, will assume the additional responsibilities of the Principal of GMC Anantnag, as per an order issued in this regard.
The order stated, “Consequent upon the retirement of Prof. Tariq Syed Qureshi, Incharge Principal, Government Medical College, Anantnag on 31.07.2023 (AN) and in the interest of administration and patient care, it is hereby ordered that Prof. Anjum Farhana, Head of the Department of Microbiology in Government Medical College, Srinagar, shall, with immediate effect, hold the charge of the post of Principal, Government Medical College, Anantnag, in addition to her own duties, till the post is filled up on a regular basis.”
