Dr Atal conferred ‘EDPA Award of Appreciation’

JAMMU, July 30: Son of soil and former Director, Regional Research Laboratory (RRL) Dr CK Atal has been conferred with East Delhi Physician’s Association (EDPA) Award of Appreciation” for his outstanding contributions in drug development and Piperine research.
Dr Atal has been given the ‘EDPA Award of Appreciation’ during an event, which was held on the occasion of Medical Conference ‘Midcon’ 2014, on the theme “Infections Update” organized by EDPA and attended by more than 130 leading Physicians and Super Specialists of East Delhi and other adjoining areas.
The award was given for pioneering contributions of Dr CK Atal for the scientific validation and discovery of world’s first ‘Bio-enhancers Piperine’, for scientifically establishing a new chapter of Bio-enhancers in Medical science and for initiating the Bio-Enhanced Anti Tubercular Research Project which resulted in the development of World’s first Bio-Enhanced Anti Tubercular formulation Risorine developed by IIIM (CSIR).
He has also been awarded with Indian Medical Association’s “Chikitsa Seva Rattan” award for the same discovery at IMA Bhawan Delhi in 2010.
