JAMMU, July 28: World’s first Punjabi Robotic Knee Replacement Surgeon, Dr Avtar Singh, Chief Orthopaedics Surgeon at Amandeep Group of Hospitals, Amritsar, has achieved a benchmark score of 500 Robotic Knee Replacement Surgeries in one single year and that too in the inception year.
In this regard, a special function was organized at Amandeep Hospital, Amritsar, wherein patients treated with this technique were specially presented and shared their experiences before and after Robotic Knee Replacement Surgery.
Dr Avtar Singh, while sharing his feelings, said, “We started with zero and achieved 500 Robotic Knee Replacement Surgeries in a single year. This proves that people have accepted this technology over other conventional methods available in the market. Reason behind this is the benefits of Robotic Technology.
He continued, “People these days are tech savvy and before going for any surgery, particularly elective surgery, they tend to go for a research on the methodologies available worldwide and then wisely choose the best technology. Patients and their attendants are very learned these days. No one can befool them with so called self-devised technologies, which do not have any base or proven track record worldwide”.
Enumerating the benefits of Robot Assisted Knee Replacement Surgery, Dr Singh added that this is the latest technology for knee replacement available around the world. Robotic technology in knee replacement is known to decrease blood loss, speed up recovery, improve knee function greatly, and helps the patient get back to their normal life much quicker.
