Dr Baba takes over as Head DLIS, KU

SRINAGAR, Apr 1: Dr Abdul Majid Baba, Librarian, Allama Iqbal Library, KU has been appointed as Head, Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS) University of Kashmir.
Due to his administrative, academic and teaching skills, Dr Baba is known in academic circles especially in the field of Library and Information Science. He is the first person in Jammu and Kashmir Universities to get Research Degree in the field of Library Science from Delhi University.
He has also been nominated by the Jammu and Kashmir Government in drafting the J&K Public Library Act.
Dr Baba is a member of several Library committees at National and State level. He has authored four books and published large number of papers in national and international publications.
