JAMMU, Feb 6: Dr Rakesh Bahl, Professor, Community Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu was honoured with multiple awards in the annual National Conference of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) held at AIIMS Hyderabad.
He was awarded prestigious fellowship of IAPSM (FIAPSM) for outstanding contributions in advancement of Preventive and Social Medicine by Governor of Telangana and LG of Puducherry Dr Tamilisai Sundrarajan.
Dr Bahl was also awarded presidential appreciation award of IAPSM for his contribution to the Association where he has served as member of governing council for three terms and chairman/member of various policy framing committees. He also received Star performance award for North Zone chapter of IAPSM from Director General Health Services (Government of India) for exemplary performance for the year 2022, in the same conference.
He has been elected to editorial board of the Indian Journal of Community Medicine for fourth term. He is also editor of News letter of North Zone chapter of IAPSM where he is secretary since 2018.
